Alan R. Templer

Alan R. Templer, 65 of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse a son of the late Robert A. and Helen L. (Scruton) Templar. Alan was a lifelong Syracuse area resident. Mr. Templar was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam. He was employed at Nestle Company in Fulton for over 20 years as an electrician and continued his career at the Huhtamaki Corp. in Fulton in their electricial maintenance department. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Liverpool and F&AM Konosioni Lodge # 950. Alan enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting . He also was an avid bowler for many years at Flamingo Bowl. He is predeceased by his wife Nellie Mae in 2007.
Surviving is his son, Sean M. Clapp of East Syracuse, a daughter, Charlene R. (Todd) Peterson of Bridgeport, four grandchildren, Dante, Matteo, Jeffrey and Felicia, a brother, Donald (Diane) Templar, a sister-in-law, Connie Templar all of PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Maurer Funeral Home 300 Second St., Liverpool with Burial to follow in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, from at the funeral home with a Masonic Service to be held at 6:45pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alan’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St. PO Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057.
