North Syracuse advances to Babe Ruth Mid-Atlantic Regional
Once again, a group of North Syracuse Babe Ruth Baseball players is vying for state, regional and – potentially – national honors. In this case, it’s the 15-and-under North Syracuse side grabbing the honors, starting out last weekend when it went to Ithaca and won the Western New York state championship, sweeping all four of the games it played.
The girls’ junior varsity tennis team was cut from the North Syracuse Central School District’s 2013-14 budget, but that wasn’t the end of the team. With the help of the North Syracuse Education Foundation (NSEF), the team was able to raise enough money on their own to be reinstated last season. They’re looking to do the same for the 2014-15 school year.
