All through the 2014 season, the Liverpool boys cross country team held the no. 2 state Class A ranking and a national top 10 ranking, honors that, in most places, would lead to a slew of meet victories and championship honors.
Late goal helps C-NS break eight-year sectional drought
Eight long years had passed since the Cicero-North Syracuse field hockey team had gained the ending it wanted - a Section III Class A championship. To end that drought, the Northstars had to go on the road for most of the 2014 season, overcome losses in its first four games and, ultimately, survive a tense Class A final with rival Liverpool Saturday at Rome Free Academy Stadium to prevail, 1-0, and finally get back to the top.
