Chittenango Just recently, the Cicero Town Board passed a resolution that will clear the way for a new development called Lyons Farm just west of the hamlet of Bridgeport. I began working with the developer of this project several months ago to pave the way for this approval. This is exciting news for the Bridgeport area and the town of Cicero as a whole. In the past, it has been difficult to entice new businesses and retailers such as a grocery store to the hamlet area because of the amount of homes near the core of Bridgeport. The approval of nearly 200 home sites will greatly increase the desire for retailers to locate in this area.
Also, Lyons Farm will tout unique aspects such as covenants that were granted to the town of Cicero to ensure there are approximately 70 acres of protected land which will remain forever wild. There will also be various walking trails which will run along Chittenango Creek and a possible marina in the future. After careful consideration, the planning board was very instrumental in making this proposed development a reality and one that would be unique and also attractive to new residents looking for something different.
This is exciting news for the Bridgeport community as new residents to the area will be welcomed along with possibility of further commercial development.
