Detectives release composite of assault suspect

— Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that sheriff’s detectives have released the composite of a man sought in the brutal assault on a 12-year-old Mattydale boy.

Sheriff's detectives continue their efforts in identifying the man who broke into a Mattydale apartment in the early morning hours of Sept. 22 and assaulted the boy while he was asleep. Detectives are now asking the public to assist them in identifying the man seen in the composite that was released today.

Detectives described the man as being a white or Hispanic male, 35 to 40 years old, balding with short light colored hair. He is of medium build, approximately 5’09” to 5’11” and weighing 175 to 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing black colored cargo style shorts with a black Under Armor short sleeve shirt, and white and black Nike sneakers. The male was also described as having a tattoo of a cross on his left inner forearm.
