Sheriff's office to use Facebook to reexamine unsolved crimes

— The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office has announced that unsolved crimes will now be added to its Facebook page and website.

Visitors to either ongov.net/sheriff or facebook.com/Onondaga-County-Sheriff's-Office can click on a link to review a brief description of unsolved crimes currently under investigation by the department.

The first case uploaded to the site is the investigation into the 2008 homicide of Mark A. Clark. Clark, the former owner of Toy Galaxy in North Syracuse, was found dead of a gunshot wound in his Liverpool home just after 12 p.m. on April 21, 2008. There are no leads in the death.

Investigators are hopeful that the use of social media will spark renewed interest in the case and bring about a resolution.
