Harmon and Aleksic

Mr. and Mrs. John Harmon of Cicero are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Allyson Barrett Harmon, to Ilija Aleksic, son of Suzana Gracievski, of North Syracuse. Allyson is a 2012 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where she earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Allyson is currently employed as a pharmacist in Central New York. Ilija is a 2010 graduate of the University at Buffalo with a bachelor of science degree. He is currently a student at Upstate Medical University College of Medicine. Allyson is the maternal granddaughter of Joseph and Jean Barrett of Foxfire, N.C., and the paternal granddaughter of Jack and Joan Harmon of Phoenix, Ariz. Ilija is the grandson of Vera Stefanovska of Bitola, Macedonia. A summer 2013 wedding is being planned.

Shults

Ashley Marie Anderson and Keith Edward Shults were married on Sept. 1 at the Assumption Catholic Church. Officiating the ceremony was Father Thomas Marciniak S.J. The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Donna Anderson of Liverpool. She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph and Rosemary DiMartino, formerly of Syracuse, and the late Hilding and Esther Anderson, formerly of Jamestown. The groom is the son of Edgar and Patricia Shults of LaFayette. He is the grandson of the late Ernest and Berta Shults, formerly of Syracuse, and the late Francis and Lois Duto, formerly of Schenectady. Matron of honor was Kelli Proulx, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Brianna Schafer and Jenna Schafer, cousins of the bride. Best man was Kevin Shults, brother of the groom. Ushers were Drew Anderson, brother of the bride, and Michael Kavulic, Jean-Yves LaFond and Steve Stockin, friends of the groom. Readings were done by Ryan Schafer, cousin of the bride, and Patrick and Michelle Shea, friends of the bride and groom. Soloist was Elizabeth Fallon, friend of the bride and groom. Their reception was held at the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville. The couple honeymooned in Aruba. Ashley is a graduate of Liverpool High School. She received her bachelor of arts in communications from LeMoyne College. She is district manager at Frito-Lay. Keith is a graduate of LaFayette High School. He received his bachelor of science in psychology from LeMoyne College and his master of science in higher education from Syracuse University. He is a graduate of the physican assistant program at LeMoyne College. He is a physician assistant at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The couple resides in Brewerton.

Dorosz and McGovern

The engagement of Jacqueline Suzanne Dorosz, daughter of Mrs. Peggy Connor Dorosz of Liverpool, NY and the late Mr. Jack Dorosz to Michael Hugh McGovern, son of Mrs. Marie McGovern and Mr. Michael McGovern of Blauvelt, NY, is announced by the bride’s mother. The couple met at their alma mater, Siena College in Loudonville, NY, where Ms. Dorosz received a B.S. in accounting and Mr. McGovern a B.A. in history. The future bride is an accountant with New York State Department of Health. The future groom is employed at Forno Bistro with DZ Restaurants in Saratoga Springs, NY. Ms. Dorosz is a 2004 graduate of Liverpool High School. Mr. McGovern is a 2004 graduate of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. A November 2013 wedding is planned in Saratoga Springs.

Chirello and Besio

Caitlin A. Chirello and Jeffrey C. Besio exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 4, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Baldwinsville. Rev. John Finnegan and Rev. Robert Stevenson celebrated the nuptial mass. The bride is the daughter of Steve and Cathy Chirello, of Fulton. The groom is the son of Mr. Stephen Besio, of Liverpool, and Ms. Cynthia Besio, of Liverpool. Maid of honor was Mary Chirello, sister of the bride and best man was Eric Price. Bridesmaids included Chelsea Foley, sister of the groom, Laura Finocchiaro, Dr. Sarah Finocchiaro and Michaelina Carrese. Groomsmen included Mike Foley, brother-in-law of the groom, Jason Disco, Ashtion Holmes and Chris Berry. A reception was held at Bellevue Country Club, Syracuse. The bride is a graduate of LeMoyne College and earned a master’s degree in literacy from Nazareth College. She teaches special education in the Fulton School District. The groom is a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School and he attended St. John Fisher College. He is in sales at Shapiro Motors, Oswego. The couple resides in Radisson.

Sabatine and Andrella

Carol and Raymond Camadine, of Lee Center, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly R. Sabatine, of Mattydale, to Peter J. Andrella, also of Mattydale. Peter is the son of Cynthia and Richard Andrella, of Syracuse. Kimberly received her education at Central City Business Institute. She is employed at Gertrude Hawk. Peter works for Eaton Corporation. A June 15, 2013 wedding is planned in Cicero.

Brown and Hobart

Paul and Kathleen Brown, of Fayetteville, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laurie Nanette Brown, to Travis Roswell Hobart, son of David and Susan Hobart of Denville, New Jersey. A Fayetteville-Manlius High School alumna, Laurie graduated as a college scholar from the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University summa cum laude, and Harvard Law School. She served as a judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and is currently a Harvard Heyman Fellow working as an attorney for the U. S. Government in Washington, DC. Travis is an alumnus of Mountain Lakes High School and graduated from Williams College and Tufts Medical School. He completed a pediatric residency at Georgetown University, where he was chief resident. Travis earned a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, where he is currently a preventive medicine resident. He also works as a pediatrician at Civista Medical Center in Maryland. A wedding is planned for June 2, 2012.
